Project: News-to-Social Pipeline: Design and Distribution

Role: Social Media Manager

Timeframe: Late 2023-Late 2024

Objective:

Revitalize the brand's social media presence to improve engagement and visual consistency, while translating complex news content into accessible, audience-friendly formats

My Contribution:

  • Translated editorial content, including global and domestic news, environment updates, and podcast highlights, into engaging social media copy across Meta, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and BlueSky

  • Managed content distribution and scheduling using Hootsuite for optimal timing and performance tracking

  • Designed a newsprint-inspired Instagram grid layout that aligned with the brand's voice and created a distinctive, recognizable style

  • Created branded graphics using Canva, combining minimalist typography with editorial-style design for visual impact

Impact and Results:

  • Achieved a:

    • 17% increase in LinkedIn impressions

    • 29.7% boost in Facebook reach

    • 52.1% rise in Twitter engagement

  • The new Instagram layout was adopted for use by the team, improving the platform's visual cohesion and user experience

Takeaway:

The project reinforced the power of cross-platform consistency and strong editorial design in elevating engagement, especially when rooted in the voice and values of a brand. By blending design thinking with social strategy, I helped turn news content into compelling digital storytelling.
