My Story
My foundational training started with English, where I learnt how to build a story. Later, journalism school taught me how to get that story to a public who's looking for more. And by the time I finished my MA in Multiplatform Journalism, I'd realized the format mattered as much as the words – a story about voting or gender equity needed a completely different shape than a story about a commercial brand or a park.
That instinct has taken me from a digital newsroom at WhoWhatWhy to strategic consulting for Disney Store, from writing copy for the Central Park Conservancy to developing civic engagement campaigns, and even into Indian-language film released on ZEE5, where storytelling met an entirely different medium and audience.
When working with Paddling Foundation, a menstrual equity nonprofit, it meant learning how to make a stigmatized topic feel shareable, in a society that places a heavy stigma on periods. In civic and investigative journalism work, it meant translating complex pieces into relatable content online.
Eventually, in a brand work like Disney, I learned the same instinct holds even when the story is commercial, or takes the form of developing actionable recommendations and strategy – attention is attention, wherever it's earned.
My work spans the full content lifecycle – audience research, trend analysis, and strategy through to writing, multimedia production, and cross-platform publishing. I'm especially drawn to how storytelling, culture, and emerging technology shape the way people discover and connect with content.
Much of that comes from what I love outside of work – art, performance, and film. I'm as likely to be found in a gallery in front of a Romantic-era painting as I am absorbed in an audiobook. The eye for what's overlooked probably started there: in Romantic-era painting and Baroque music, art forms built entirely on finding the emotional detail everyone rushes past.
Currently open to new opportunities in content strategy, copywriting, social media, and digital communications.
